17’x14’x11’ mural at the Alexandra Ellis Caring Cabin near Pacific City, OR. This incredible place provides children and teens who are in treatment, as well as their families, with the opportunity to retreat and relax outside the hospital environment.

The mural is located in the meditation room, which was decorated by Design with Refinement. The mural depicts Oregon’s state bird and fish, a Western Meadowlark and a Chinook Salmon, filled with and surrounded by plants found throughout the state of Oregon. Featured plants include Oregon Crab Apple, Nootka Rose, Grand Fir, Lupine, Western Red Cedar, Wild Ginger, Western Serviceberry, Salal, Douglas Fir, Sagebrush, Vine Maple, and more.

Chosen as part of Las Vegas’s ZAP 16/17 program, Along the Colorado incorporates the state of Nevada, a roadrunner, and plants and animals from the Mojave Desert. A winding Mojave Green Rattlesnake is depicted on every side of the utility box. The snake is echoing the shape of the Colorado river and represents transition and healing. It follows the course of the river and Lake Mead to represent the drastic changes we’ve seen in water levels in recent years and the hope for continuing conservation efforts and a respect for the outdoor areas around Las Vegas.

This work was commissioned by the Las Vegas Day School to be displayed in the school library. It portrays Nevada crafted from diverse flora and fauna of the state. These plants and animals include: Bighorn sheep, Joshua Tree, Sagebrush, Great Horned Owl, Sagebrush, Tortoise, Corn Lilies, Rabbit Brush, Tufted Poppy, Snow Plant, Red Fir, Mountain Blue Bells, Bitterbrush, Mountain Bluebird, and more.

Created during my residency at Great Basin National Park, this 20”x20” painting was creating using acrylic medium that gives it a slight relief effect.

This piece is part of the temporary sculpture exhibition HAVEN at the Clark County Wetlands Park. It was created on a repurposed table top using acrylic paint, tin cans, packaging paper, paper-mache clay, and stucco. It portrays Lake Mead and the Las Vegas Wash area, filled and surrounded by plants from the Mojave Desert. The twisting snakes not only represent the 2025 zodiac sign, but also symbolize transformation and the changes occuring with the lowering water levels of the lake. An image of a great horned owl is camouflaged within the background plants, calling viewers to notice and respect the wildlife around our city.

This work is not only a celebration of the beauty of the wildlife around the Wetlands, but also a call to action, reminding viewers of the importance of preserving our water and the natural areas of Las Vegas for future generations.

This painting reflects my current focus on conservation and threatened species. The yellow-billed cuckoo is critically imperiled in the western United States. I painted this during a residency in Washington State, and the bird is filled with threatened or endangered plant species from the north.

Zap 20 mural at Sunset Park in Las Vegas inspired by the wildlife found at Sunset Park with a particular focus on two areas: the dune field and the lake. Silhouettes of animals found around the park include the Greater Roadrunner, Gambel’s Quail, Phainopepla, White-tailed Antelope Squirrel, Coyote, Double-crested Cormorant, Black-tailed Jackrabbit, and Monarch Butterfly. The painting is framed by common native plants seen at the park: Creosote, Honey Mesquite, Desert Willow, and Desert Broom.
